A MINI deu em Portugal o seu grande primeiro passo rumo ao seu futuro nos ralis. Após quatro dias em Ponte de Lima a testar o carro com que irão realizar metade da época de 2011, e depois entrar em 'full time' no WRC, em 2012.
O MINI Countryman WRC, apesar de ainda não ter rodado na sua configuração final, já deixou boas indicações, sendo que o mais importante sinal, foi dado aos muitos adeptos que voltaram a rumar às serras da zona - palco de grandes espetáculos de ralis no passado, que confirmaram agora ao vídeo o que ainda só sabiam dos vídeos dos testes dos novos Citroen DS3 WRC e Ford Fiesta WRC - quase nada se vai perder em termos de espetáculo.
Os novos carros, como este MINI, vão ter motores 1.6 Litros turbo, e no pressuposto que os motores a Citroen e da Ford terão um 'cantar' semelhante a este da BMW, não será por aí que a passagem de 2.000 turbo para 1.600 turbo fará com que adeptos se afastem.
