Numa temporada de estreia na Formula 3 Euroseries em que já venceu por três vezes, o piloto português poderá 'cheirar' o seu grande objetivo já aos 19 anos, juntando-se a uma elite muito reduzida de jovens que já guiou um F1.
Confirmado no GP Macau de Formula 3, Félix da Costa é um dos nomes que se encontram em cima da mesa na 'short list' de duas equipas da Fórmula 1 para efetuar os testes de novembro no circuito de Abu Dhabi, reservados aos 'rookie drivers'.
A Sowhat, empresa responsável pela gestão da carreira do piloto Português, em conjunto com Tiago Monteiro, tem estado bastante ativa nas últimas semanas, adiantando apenas que: "Estamos a um passo de fechar acordo com uma das duas equipas de Fórmula 1 que demonstraram interesse real em testar o António em Abu Dhabi, nos testes de final de temporada. Neste momento existe já um memorando de entendimento com uma delas, no que deverá, muito provavelmente, resultar num contrato firme dentro dos próximos dias. Sabemos que o António tem vindo a ser observado por gente poderosa dentro dos meandros da Fórmula 1 mas nunca pensámos que este tipo de convite viesse a surgir tão cedo. O facto de termos sido abordados sobre este tema, mostra que o António está no caminho certo e que o seu nome é falado no 'paddock' da Fórmula 1, o que é muito importante nesta fase da sua carreira", referiu Tiago Monteiro.
Entretanto, para além da presença no GP de Macau de F3 e no Korea Super Grand Prix, ambos em novembro próximo, integrado na equipa britânica Carlin, António Félix da Costa irá estar em ação já nesta quarta e quinta Feira (13 e 15 de Outubro), em testes no circuito do Estoril, ao volante de monolugares da GP3 Series das equipas Carlin (4ª Feira) e Barwa Addax (5ª Feira).
