O finlandês Juho Hanninen (Skoda) assegurou o título antecipado do Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), depois de a marca checa ter decidido não inscrever Jan Kopecky no rali da Escócia, agendado para os próximos dias 15 e 17.
Com duas provas por disputar no calendário da competição (Escócia e Chipre), Hanninen tem 20 pontos de vantagem sobre o seu companheiro de equipa, pelo que já não pode ser alcançado na classificação.
O finlandês sucede assim a Kris Meeke na galeria de campeões deste campeonato, no qual o português Bruno Magalhães ocupa actualmente a quinta posição, com 30 pontos.
Juho Hanninen Finn (Skoda) secured the title in advance of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), after the brand has decided not to enter the Czech Jan Kopecky rally in Scotland, scheduled for the next 15 to 17.
With two races to compete in the competition calendar (Scotland and Cyprus), Hanninen has 20 point lead over his teammate, so it can no longer be attained in the standings.
The Finn took over from Kris Meeke in the gallery of champions this league, in which the Portuguese Bruno Magalhães currently holds the fifth position with 30 points.
